There is no greater joy than sharing Christ with homes–familiesthat
> have never heard…Seeing lives changed and so many being touched or
> healed in Christ…
>
> Thammarajupalli we went to many hindu homes to share Christ. Almost
> every home had large shrines to many deities!
> First house this older couple and children all worshipped Ellamma,
> snake goddess. The 70 year old, white headed father had just
> purchased a 5000 rs huge black goat to give as sacrifice to goddess.
> We shared Christ and all prayed and all want eternal life. However
> the father was afraid to not keep his word to ellemma snake goddess.
> “evil will come, sickness or disease if I don’t sacrifice, then I will
> pull deity and serve the Living God“, he said.
> We turned to Psalm 91 and read the chapter…
> “Ok, we will not sacrifice, but sell and give to build a church”.
> PTL!! we all took picture by big goat.
>
> Next several houses: In one, mother served the Lord, but 35 year old
> son had ashrine in back of house. We were anointing with oil and pray
> and found it. He had willingly pulled all deities from front of
> house, but left shrine in back. How many times do we clean up what
> people easily see and leave hidden sin.
> Next house, whole family came except Momma. Today she accepted and is
> pulling shrine… Her hsuband so excited, put 100rs in my hand…Lord
> guide us!!
> Will be strong chhurch in village, but need land. Roman Catholic
> church was bulldozed for new road… 7th Day church brings confusion
> and 700 of them built in Andra Pradesh India, almost all are not
> functioning. Built in 2006…last house, a man “leader-deacon in 7th
> day church and taken baptism, insisted his family loved Christ. He
> had many deities in his house and a big shrine to pray to many gods.
> Finally he said, “by time you return, I will pull these all down, I
> will do little by little…” We poured into that man.
> Every house was open to Gospel and so many lives truly changed!!
>
> Betamcherla Village–awesome!!! Stone cutter village. When Jonathon
> and Tammy Hooker were with us in Oct. We baptised 12 and this time 4.
> They built the prayer shed on hill overlooking stone cutter places.
> We climb the rocky treacherous hill of rocks and no road or path.
> These are like mountain goats–had to almost carry me up…
> Prayer Shed is great with thick walls on sides–free stone… and
> front is open overlooking valley! Taught on tithing…these make us
> feel so welcome. Hard working, committed to Christ and 8 years is the
> oldest Christian. It is joy to teach these 60 or more new Christians
> who are sponges.
> They ask for nothing and work hard with smiles in treacherous jobs.
> We gathered at open end of church and overlooking the valley of stone
> cutters, sang with all our might and clapped and sang to the Lord.
> All standing and that beautiful sound drifted across that valley!!
> This church has awesome things ahead…. Will enlarge it within the
> month!!!
>
> As we left, we stopped 1 km down the road and 3 women had taken off
> running frpom church toward the house we were going to. These are
> mountain rock slopes and no trail. They had hinds feet and tied us
> getting there. One was a girl, Velangini, 11 years old, who works in
> stone cutter for 1000rs per week and pays her 2 sisters way for
> school. No money for her to go. We thought she was 20, not 11. As
> we prayed, giant silent tears went down her face, but kept good
> attitude to bless her sisters!! Made our heart break, but know God
> will make a way!!
>
> At last village, Chandra, they had 50 or so in a very nice prayer
> shed!! One girl 20 caught my attention. Loki Bai was riding the
> train 8 years ago at age 12 and was thrown and is now paraplegic and
> can not walk. Two months ago, this pretty girl came to Christ and
> prepares for baptism. We encouraged and heart to heart tiold her not
> to give up….prepare for Bible School and God will make a way!
>
> So many need a voice of encouragement and hope! So many are hurting
> and do not know the joy we have!
> No greater thrill than speaking life and blessing into lives using the
> Gospel–good news!!
>
> A fantastic day in the Lord!
> With so much thanks for the privilege,
>
> Kerry and Melody
