Spreading The Gospel

Being a Christian takes some effort on your part, Salvation is free but beware of false teaching that will lead you to hell

Wow, I can feel the steam of anger rising up in many at this topic, but for the rest of you – beware! If you think you can believe in Jesus, go to church and live your own life according to your own desires you have been horribly misled. If you go to church and believe, but go home to live a secret life of anger, unforgiveness, malice, bitterness, lust, pornography, idolatry, adultery, lying,  obscene talk and other sins, the bible says you will not inherit the kingdom of God. Let me put it plainly, those who live that way will end up in hell. He warns us in revelation of being lukewarm – they have no salvation.

Don’t let anyone tell you that as long as you believe in Jesus that you can go on living in sexual immorality and lust. Lust will lead you to hell. There is terrible sorrow ahead when you let sin rule your life. Read the scripture and stop listening to false teachers who don’t care about you or your salvation.

It’s true! Yes, there is nothing we can do to obtain His grace and Salvation – it is a free gift to us. However, we have to honor it, not abuse His grace. We must heed the warnings because many who have been told they are saved will find themselves weeping and gnashing their teeth on that great and terrible day. It’s like receiving an engagement ring. The bride to be didn’t have to do anything to deserve it, the groom to be gave it freely out of love. What happens if the bride runs off with other men during the courtship? What happens if the bride doesn’t honor the commitment? What happens if the bride really doesn’t love her fiancé? Will the marriage ever happen? Jesus said “If you love me, you will obey me” . Obedience takes effort. It takes knowing the scripture, knowing what the Lord has commanded us and taking the steps and the effort to walk in obedience.

“Let us” obey and hear the Word of the Lord

Below are scriptures that tell us that we must make an effort in our walk. When the scripture says – Let us – that means we must step out in obedience.  It takes an effort to stop in your busy day and pray, an effort to put time into studying His word and effort to teach our children. The Lord says “Be Holy, for I am Holy”. You may feel weak, but He is strong. Take the first step, get up and fight against the desires of your flesh, resist the devil and  don’t be a slave to sin. When you take the first step and each one thereafter, the Lord is there always to help you and strengthen you along the way as He is perfecting your faith. Here’s a few:

Let us walk properly as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness Roman 13;13
Let us not walk in lewdness and lust, nor strife or envy Romans 13:13
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths eph 4:29 people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:36-37
Let us show ourselves approved in good works Titus 2:6-8

As a Christian, you are called to holiness. This may take a while, but you have to lay aside the sins that are tripping you. Understanding this is step one in the breakdown of the strongholds and captivity that many Christians are suffering with. Don’t let sin rule your life. Ask God to show you if there is anyway in you that needs to change. Read the Lord’s warning to the churches in Revelation 2-3. He is calling the churches out in love to repent, to change and avoid punishment and disaster. Rev 2-3

1- they had forgotten their first love, they needed to go back to that first love they had of the Lord
2- they held false teaching and put stumbling blocks before the people, they needed to repent and change their false ways
3- they taught seducing doctrine, teaching sexual immorality, they needed to quickly repent and turn
4- they were dead, they were told to strengthen what little remains, their works were not perfect before God
5- they were to continue to keep His word, to hold fast so no one would take their crown.
6- They were lukewarm and would be “spewed out” of his mouth if they didn’t change

Repent and call on Him: “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.” Revelation 3:19-21

Run the Race to Win :  Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Everything in life takes effort. If you want to run a race, you have to train. If you want to learn, you must discipline yourself to study. If you want to be healthy, you have to tell yourself no to things that could harm you. Why is it okay for us to work so hard for everything in life, but when I tell you that you must work hard to be holy you want to kick and scream? It’s really not that difficult. If you love Him, you’ll want to obey Him. Freedom comes with obedience, why do you want to continue to be a slave to sin?

Let us look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 12:1

Let us stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;  praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6

We are not perfect yet, but the Lord is helping us get there. Don’t give up and don’t be a lazy lukewarm Christian.

Steps of Salvation from the THE BOOK OF ACTS:
1-BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST- FAITH
2-CONFESS YOUR SINS AND REPENT
3-TURN BACK TO GOD- He wants you to SEEK HIM – TURN FROM YOUR WICKED WAYS
4-BE BAPTISED IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST-WASHING AWAY YOUR SINS
5-PROVE IT BY THE WAY YOU LIVE
6-GET RID OF ALL SIN AND WICKEDNESS
7-WATCH OUT FOR FALSE TEACHERS AND WOLVES IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING

Ugh! I’m so sick of lying teachers leading people to hell. No one tells the truth anymore!

  2. I agreed partially with what you’re saying but I believe that God wants a relationship with everybody. He knows nobody is ever going to be perfect but that we could at least try to live without sin. The worst sin, according to the Bible, is blasphemy against the Spirit, which is higher than weaknesses of the flesh, so to speak.

Yes, God does want a relationship with everybody. The bible is very clear that the only way to God is through His Son Jesus. Sin can get in the way of our relationship with God. To enter the Holy of Holies, we must be blameless and we can be blameless because of what Christ did for us. He has called us to be Holy as He is Holy and Hebrews 6 says therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
in other words, it’s time for Christians to mature in their faith and keep walking towards perfection. No one is perfect, but too many are making their own way, their own excuses and think nothing of the sin that they live in – making excuses for adultery, lust, and other sins. That is not what Christ died on the cross for. He didn’t die so we can live a life following after our own fleshly desires. Too many think that salvation stops at step 1-believe, but even the devils believe. It’s time we Christians stopped being baby Christians and started to really be more like Him – in kindness, in loving others, in gentleness, in patience with those who are not patient, gently bringing people back to the faith in Christ Jesus and warning them because the time is closer now than it ever has been.
