ADULTERY…are you the weakest link?

The problem of adultery has been on my heart lately, and I want to share a few words. Too many people think that it is no “big deal” and make a joke out of it. However,  it is destructive to it’s victims, marriages, families, and even the one falling into the sin. It is a serious concern that has been written about in the Bible as a warning for all. Satan will use any tactic to kill, steal, and destroy… and he will use the “weakness link” to achieve his goals. So think about it… are you the weakest link in your relationship? Are you letting in lustful desires by looking at pornography? Are you flirting with disaster by flirting with someone out of your marriage vows? Are you truly committed to your marriage or just yourself? These are all choices that we have to make. Are we choosing sin or are we choosing righteousness? In other words, are you choosing Satan or are you choosing God? Christ is the Key to overcoming all that Satan and this world will use to destroy you. Are you strong enough to grab hold of the Key that has been given to us or will you crumble under the weight of the world and all of it’s lustful desires? Just something for all to think about… are you the weakest link?

“Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.” 1 Corinthians 6:18

““If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. So you shall purge the evil from Israel.” Deuteronomy 22:22

“He who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself.” Proverbs 6:32

“But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:28

“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.” Hebrews 13:4

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.” 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5

“Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.” Colossians 3:5

“Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21

“For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:8

Dear Lord, I lift up all the brokenhearted from the wounds of adultery and ask for total healing and restoration to their hearts and lives. I pray that Your children will stand strong against the evil tactics of the enemy to bring division in marriages and destroy the unity that You have created in these marriages and amongst your people.  I pray that You turn hearts to You, that they will know that You are the Foundation… Lord Jesus, You are the Rock from which all relationships should be built so that they will be strong and withstand all attempts at destruction as they hold onto You in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
