Traveling in an unfamiliar place,

now I reach a crossroads!

I sigh in disgust and make a choice.

A pretty path to nowhere . ..

until a detour quickly brought me

to You!

It amazes me when Christians claim healing and miracles “were back then”and not now!  THEY HAPPEN EVERY DAY and to you and me, yet we get caught up in our “if onlys” and miss them.  In this Easter season as we celebrate our Lord dying on a tree and rising to life again,I can think of 2 miracles in my life involving trees.

On the day of Christmas eve in what was then my first home I got up and before coffee headed to the front steps for the newspaper.  Bending to pick it up, in my half asleep stupor, it came to mind that the sun seemed too bright.  I stood up and realized the huge oak tree next to my driveway had fallen during the night . . . I slept through it not hearing the snap,  crash,  crunch . . . and my…

Do we say “the directions were tricky

as an excuse to quit,

or avoid an unfamiliar road?

If so,

who is to blame

for a journey

without end?

cardinal singing

It is cold in my sanctuary this morning

But so vast a choir sings so sweetly

That my heart is warmed

And my spirit renewed.

I love this precious dog so much.  Here you see him joining me for devotional time as he always does.  If I become distracted, he knows “it’s time” and comes to lead me to our special place!

dad mom me

As a child my earthly father was always there loving me and when I cried out, he came quickly.  Now I am grown but my needs have grown as well so I often need to call out to Abba and He is always there when I do . . . and when I do not.  He knows my every need.

How amazing is that love?

Kisses From God

Technology makes so many things quicker, easier, and more efficient and we often hear people speak of the past as “oh, before . . .(insert your favorite site).” One thing technology and social NETWORKING sites do notimprove is relationships! In these days of efficiency we have become too busy for relationships, for love, for being together, and for so much more . . . constantly claiming we are too busy for “that.”.

Efficient technology should freeus, not consume us! I love you, my friends.

  • Smiley images will neverreplace touching you
  • photographs of a loaf of bread will never replace breaking bread with you.
  • Texting will never replace sitting in my livingroom with you.

We are more accessible than ever, and lonelier as well.

Time to recharge the batteries in our hearts!

. . . without you, Lord!

I do not believe in coincidences, i believe in God-instances, so when I read “nothing can separate you from my love” this morning, I knew it was not by calendar or by chance. Like Peter, my response was also “Lord, you KNOW. ..” and He does, but HE made me reread it a time or two and as I write this I am just now catching the significance.

When I feel completely robed in His love, none of my shortcomings or failures, or challenges weigh me down or scare me, but at 2am, they woke me up in fear. I prayed and got back to sleep but was disappointed in myself for having misplaced His peace. “Will I ever get it right?”

On my own? NEVER. BUT I was reminded of the words of assurance that “nothing can separate you from my…
