The Book of Life…

I saw this Charlie Brown cartoon and wanted to share with you. This is so true. In the Book of Life, the answers are not in the back. We can’t cheat and read the ending of our stories. We just need to walk it out and trust the Author! God knows our beginning and our end… and all that’s in-between.

The Lord’s Open Doors

The Lord’s open doors…
through which we will walk.
Not by man’s choice…
Nor by man’s talk.
For nothing can stop…
The Lord’s divine plan.
Not any man…
or even Satan.
For God’s will…
it will be done.
Nothing can stop it…
For He is the Divine One.
So as we pray…
For God’s will each day.
Trust in Him…
to guide your way.

“These are the words of Him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open…. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelation 3:7-8)

Lord, guide our paths and orchestrate each step that we will not miss a step with You. Open the doors that You want us to walk through and close and lock the doors that You want us to avoid. We trust You to lead us into our future and thank You that You have gone before us to pave the way for us to walk…in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Prayer for the Rescue of all Victims

Pray for the rescue of all victims:

Lord, You rescued me…
when I did not know I needed rescuing.
And You forgave me…
of all my wrong doing.

Lord, You rescued me…
showing Your Loving Hand,
saving me and my children,
from that abusive man.

Lord, You rescued me…
and You are no respecter.
I was so broken…
but You are our Protector.

Lord, You rescued me…
so I call on You!
Rescue many more…
for Your Word is true.

Lord, remember Psalm 84:18…
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted…
He rescues those who are crushed in spirit.”
So Lord, rescue those broken and discarded!

Lord, remember Psalm 82:4…
“Rescue the weak and the needy;
deliver them from the wicked.”
So Lord, rescue those needy and weakly!

Lord, remember Psalm 147:3…
“He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.”
Lord, so many are abused and broken!
Please rescue them soon!

Lord, remember Isaiah 61:1…
“…He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives…”
Lord, raise Your army with this Word imparted!

Lord, what you have done for me…
You will do for many more.
I pray for a move of Your Spirit…
Come and open the captives’ door.

Lord, You love all your children…
and You have rescued me.
So I pray for all victims…
Lord, set them all free.

Lioness Arising Mothers

This book gave me such courage!

Judgement Day: All Sinners!… But My Grace and Mercy is Sufficient! (Hebrews 4:16)

We will all stand in judgement,
before The Lord one day.
We will all stand and wonder…
what will He say?

No one can serve two masters!
His Word has been clear…
But we are all sinners,
and we will all stand in fear.

Fear of the Lord…
is what the Word has said.
‘Cause we fall short of His standards,
and have all sinned instead.

None can meet His standards.
His Holiness is so great.
Because we are all human,
His judgement’s our fate.

But, God sent His Son,
Holy, Sinless, and Pure.
To die for our sins,
so we can enter His Holy Door.

Christ’s Blood covers us,
from our head to our toe.
Accepting Him as our Savior,
purifies us, you know.

For we are all sinners,
and all sin everyday!
But through God’s Grace and Mercy,
He has shown us the way.

Grace means we get something,
that we do not deserve.
Mercy means we avoid punishment,
that we should have served.

Though we try to be sinless,
our efforts are so deficient.
But God’s Grace and Mercy,
are always sufficient.

He knows our hearts…
though we try but fall.
His Love, Grace, and Mercy,
Covers us all.

Listen to this song by Shane and Shane, “Grace is Sufficient”.

Scriptures for today:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”  (Hebrews 4:16)

Prayer:  Lord, thank You for Your unending grace and mercy that surpasses all human understanding. We praise You for your plan of redemption for us and your abundant Love for each of us that we can humbly lay at Your Feet and be forgiven for falling short of Your expectations… Help us Lord to walk in righteousness and to walk in the calling that You have for each of us…in Jesus’ name. Amen

Expect the Unexpected!

Miracles happen…Expect the unexpected!

Hidden wounds,
from years of abuse.
Visible impairments,
from years of use.
Many people hurt,
for many different reasons.
But the time has come,
for a different season.
A time of healing,
is in the air.
A time of deliverance,
so devil beware.
God loves us all,
and wants to heal.
We just have to believe,
knowing miracles are real.
So what do you want?
What is expected?
From what I see…

Prayer: Lord, I lift all of the abused, all of the broken, all of the wounded to You today. I ask you to do a mighty work in the hearts of the multitudes of hurting people around the world today with healing and restoration to many… in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Working for those moments of JOY

grow musicThe non-musician in our Christian gatherings often looks towards the musicians with a certain measure of (perhaps misguided) awe. One thing they find ‘awesome’ is that we even bother! We musicians put ourselves through many practices, where we must work closely with others, negotiating different opinions, and we put ourselves ‘out there’ and up front, where the criticism can sometimes sting. . .  a lot. (Luther didn’t call church music the War Department for nothing!)  And while some look with awe, others may look with disdain and consider most of our efforts simply for show and self-glory.
But there is one thing that keeps musicians (music directors in particular) in the job – and it’s not usually the pay grade!  It is the love for gathering people together in song, praising our great God! Corporate singing provides a unique opportunity to create joy as people praise God and sing out words of encouragement to each other. It gives people the opportunity to express publicly the joy, confidence and hope they have in Christ. These are things they may not find easy to say in everyday conversation.
Since God also delights in the praise of His people (which thwarts Satan’s best efforts at discouragement) we musicians experience much blessing and encouragement ourselves in leading people in something that has eternal, spiritual and cosmological impact!

When we put effort into selecting great sets of song, that are biblically true, Gospel-focused and singable for a group of people, there is the hope that the Word in song will challenge people’s hearts and teach them to know and love their Saviour more. The lyrics might even move people to great (or small) acts of love and service, bringing glory to God. Some may experience a lightbulb moment, as a difficult theological concept makes sense for the first time, in song. “Where the Word goes the Spirit goes” (John Piper) – so the more our songs are steeped in the Word, the more He works through them.
And while I admit that not everyone may be looking joyful as we lead them in praising God, it is the possibility for creating deep inner joy that keeps us coming back. This is what we love! We love to hear God’s praises! We love to see the joy that music brings, joy that encourages us all on our journey of faith.

“. . . . for the joy of the Lord is our strength.”
(Nehemiah 8:10)

Overcoming the Nightmares Playing in my Head (Romans 8:31)

Nightmares playing in my head
of things my ex did and said.
Sleepless nights were plenty.
Bad dreams were so many.
Fearful of his stalking the night,
put alarms and a security light.
Now the dreams have faded away,
as time passes day by day.
But my peace came from above,
when God showed me His Love.
He wrapped His arms around me,
protecting and setting me free.
Yes, bad dreams still come…
with last night having some.
But God’s showing me I am stronger,
and not a victim any longer.
He has helped to overcome.
and a new person I’ve become.
For on His Word I stand,
protecting me from abusers hands.
My Peace comes from Thee,
I know that He is for me…
and if He is for me,
who can be against me.
(Romans 8:31)

GodswordsPrayer:  Lord, I pray for the peace and comfort that can only come from You to touch the broken all around this world, that they will find rest in Your loving arms and deliverance from the fears of their nights… In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Relationships… The Word for Today

One morning as I woke up, my question to the Lord was “What do you want me to write about today?” The word “RELATIONSHIPS” quickly came to mind…  So,  here it goes:

Relationships... We all start out in life and develop various kinds of relationships. As we progress in life and pursue our paths, we develop both healthy and unhealthy relationships. We have relationships that develop in our teens and may expand into romantic relationships. As we mature, relationships progress. By this point we have developed relationships with family, friends, church families, and  in our work environments.  So as you can see, over the years we develop many relationships.

The relationships we have developed, come in many forms. These relationships may be nurturing, friendly,  kind, loving, and romantic.  In this instance, these relationships are positive. However, other relationships may be controlling us, placing unreasonable demands upon us, or demeaning us. These relationship can represent many forms of abuse. We have all encountered various types of unhealthy relationships.  Where relationships become a problem is finding ourselves trapped in those that negatively impact our lives.

That is what happened to me. I listened to the negative words spoken over me. I listened to the demeaning words, the unrealistic demands, the abusive cycle that trapped me in a world of negativity… Until God set me free.

When God came into my life, He  rescued me from an abusive relationship. God comforted me, provided for me, and healed my brokenness.  I cried to God in my brokenness, He showed up, showed me what a real relationship looked like and began my restoration process.  I had been a “weekend Christian”, fulfilling the “duty” and doing good “works”, but  then God began to develop a real relationship with me. I did not know Him, and I did not trust Him. Since that time, God has taught me to have a deep personal relationship with Him. This intimate relationship with God is where I learned to hear His voice, trust Him, and follow His guide down the path that He has planned for me…  God desires a close relationship with all of us.

Deuteronomy 6:5……..You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

FEAR NO MORE (Part 3 of Fear) (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)

The subject that I am supposed to address again today is FEAR.

I have written Part 1, “FEAR, PTSD, and the Abused Women”. Then it continued so I wrote Part 2 which is Fight or Flight.

So, here I go with part #3, “FEAR NO MORE”–
If anyone would have told me this, FEAR NO MORE!, I would have thought that they were absolutely CRAZY!!! How can you let go of a fear so strong that it absolutely consumes you? How can you get over the pain and suffering that contributed to the fear? Now, some may think that I am CRAZY, but I can only tell you from my own experiences– WE CAN DO NOTHING ON OUR OWN… BUT WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS US!! and, by the way, I am not crazy!!

The Bible tells us:
“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)
I did not believe this until I experienced it. I will share with you one of my favorite worship songs. It is by Jason Upton and it’s called “IN YOUR PRESENCE.” I have found this Presence, and I can tell you that in that Place of HIS PRESENCE, ALL FEAR IS GONE!! I ask you to close your eyes and listen to this awesome song and think of the possibilities when you find this place….

Now, I am being painfully honest, revealing my secret to where I am today. This song explains exactly where I am now. I have heard Him tell me that “EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK!” I have felt that Presence that is indescribable, like another realm not of this earth…All of HIS Promises are available…..
